There is so much to do and see right on the doorstep. Within a short distance, you are able to hire boats to explore the Norfolk Broads, visit the famous picturesque market towns of Southwold, Beccles or Bungay. Somerleyton Hall is a short drive away with its stately home and stunning gardens, which are open to the public. Or take a drive to the award winning seaside towns and walk along the golden beaches of Gorleston, enjoy the family fun of Great Yarmouth. For a bit more hustle and bustle, head into the historic cathedral city of Norwich for its shopping, site seeing and energetic night life. Whatever you are looking for, it won't be too far away.
The Village Maid, Lound is just down the road (10 minute drive) which has a lovely country pub atmosphere and always good good (the pie of the day is especially good) Booking would be advisable as they do get busy.
Great Yarmouth is a short drive away, it's golden mile is famed for its beaches and amusements. There is plenty to do here, crazy golf, the pleasure beach for any thrill seekers and a selection of places to eat and drink.
Beccles is a pretty market town with a selection of shops, bars and restaurants. There are a couple of good places to eat which i would recommend, the Prezzo is lovely, its a converted cinema and always get a good meal. The Wine Vaults to lovely food as does Graze.
Southwold is on the Suffolk coast and is home to the Adnams brewery. With its pier and selection of boutique shops and restaurants, its definitely worth a visit.
Hire a boat from just down the road to go exploring the miles of stunning scenery on the Norfolk Broads. Boat hire will need to be booked in advance.
Somerleyton is a quaint little village with its stately home with its stunning gardens, which are open to the public. Please check opening times as they do vary throughout the year.
